Most metal shingles will be attached to the roof using metal shingle.
How spacing roof shingle.
When nailing the shingle do not place any nails closer than 6 from the valley center.
Imbed each step flashing in a 75 mm 3 wide application of asphaltic plastic cement and nail in place.
For three tab shingles place two quarter size spots of plastic roof cement under the lower corners of each tab as shown in figure 2 7.
Understand the basic patterns.
If possible have the shingles delivered via a boom directly onto the roof.
How to do it prep work space.
Install a starter strip.
Each flashing should overlap the one below by at least 75 mm 3 but not be visible below the shingle top lap.
With laminated shingles place four to six quarter sized dots spaced evenly about one inch above the bottom of the overlapping shingle.
Work up from the initial row starting at the lower corner in a diagonal pattern staggering the shingles to prevent gaps.
As on the other shingles use 4 roofing nails on each shingle.
Lay the starter row of metal shingles at the drip edge and affix to the roof with metal roofing nails.
You may want to lay a shingle find where it sits in the valley and give it a small bend so the shingle sits firmly in the crease.
Consider four and five.
All the other patterns work in essentially the same way offsetting.
Stagger each course to achieve the half pattern.
Snap horizontal chalklines to help you keep the courses straight.
