How to attach things to hardiplank siding.
I did search on this group and did not find anything.
I would call a company that sells it and then you will know for sure.
Screw in the screws with a screwdriver.
And shall be installed 3 8 in.
Hardiplank is a cement board.
The term applies to a nailing screwing method for joining hardieplank planks to hide nail or screw fasteners.
It should be able to withstand the drill.
Use a number 8 1 1 4 inch long by 0 375 inch wide hd ribbed wafer head or equivalent screw on steel studs.
From end and between 3 4 in.
However do not overtighten the screws since the hardiplank siding can become damaged with excessive pressure.
6 align the bracket holes with the pilot holes in the siding.
Drill pilot holes at each mark one quarter to one half inch deep to make it easier to insert screws and prevent cracking the siding.
Tighten the screws until the mailbox remains flush with the hardiplank surface.
The kind that are a flat piece of metal you put in flat ways along the face of the palnk and then turn 90 degrees to lock in place might come back out the type the are basically a spring steel then compresses to install then pops into place over the top of the plank you will probably never be able to work back out.
Alternatively it is possible to use a power screwdriver to install the screws.
I m still focused on plants but eventually would like to add some wall art.
Pinning the plank down at the bottom edge is a common practice called pin back it is used to correct high nailing loose planks gaps or rattling.
Blind nailing is the preferred installation method for hardieplank.
Pinning of the butt joints is not intended to increase wind load values.
You also need to find a wall stud if you are going to hang a flag as the movement of it when windy will put a lot of strain on your siding if you do not anchor it properly.
The only downside of pneumatic tools is that sometimes the installer will get going a little bit too quickly and will lose track of where the nails are going.
It s always nice to find another way of doing things.
I replaced the siding on my house about 10 years ago and i still hate the idea of putting holes in it.
Hardie plank siding is almost always installed with air nailers which are the best tool for quick installation.
